In my lifetime I have already killed 5 goldfish. The first was a carnival prize who made it an amazing 5 days before my parents flushed him. The next two I were 'rescue fish' that my roommate and I tried to save when their owners left them behind the lounge couch in the dorms. They made it two days. The next two were replacement fish for the 'rescue fish'. We waited to name them until the next day. They died two hours after being named.
All of my fish experiences made me wonder: when fish die, do they become ghosts? Do ghost children keep them? Would they make better pets if they could leave their bowl?
