The tea pirates are nearly here, along with their friends the Barracollossus (the fish that eats naughty boys and girls, tricycles and all), hungry wallpaper, and a seagull judge!  In fact, there are only 16 days left to pre-order ’How to Outsmart Tea Pirates (and other useful sailing tips)!

My test copy arrived this weekend and I promptly set sail in my car to the beach.  The book thoroughly enjoyed laying in sand and wooden planking, catching the summer rays on its gorgeously blue cover.

Of course, I had to dress appropriately in case there were tea pirates about.  The last thing I wanted was to have to endure high tea with pinkies up before walking the plank into the San Francisco Bay.

While at the beach, the book and I got in some summer reading as well.  I can’t tell you how gorgeous the printing is!  My pen and ink masterpieces can out masterfully.  I was literally giggling with glee as I turned the pages and saw one gorgeous picture after the next.

This is a book for everyone who read Harry Potter, even though they would have graduated from Hogwarts long ago.  It’s a book for those who love quirky humor, Edward Gorey’s pen and ink drawings, and are a kid at heart.  It’s a book that promises to make you laugh, no matter how bad your day (or in my case, your sunburn).

Pre-order ends on  June 20th.  After that, I won’t be signing the copies or including an extra ‘sailing tip’ so you’ll want to grab your copy!  Pre-order people will also be getting there books a full week before everyone else so you’ll have a full week to tease them.
