Did you know there is magic out there?  Of course you did.  What am I saying?  You’re a very bright person.  Magic likes to reside in certain places though and sometimes it takes a special traveler to find those places.

I’m working on a very big project to create a 2013 calendar of magical places for you.  It’s been something I’ve wanted to make for years but I never think about it until November.  This year I’m putting all of my focus on it so that you can have something extra special for you to mark the coming year on.

This calendar will include 12 magical places that will shoot a little vibe of wonder through you.  They tingle with the unknown and make you want to dash off to find them.

These places include abandoned abbeys, silent Redwood groves, deserted seashores, and rocky cliffs.  Each has a touch of the mysterious about it.  When you see them in person, when you stand in that spot, you can’t help but feel hundreds and hundreds of years of history pressing down on you and whispering up through the ground.

But I need your help.  I need more magical places.  Where do you feel magic still resides in the world?

There would have to be a cave, you know like the one Puff the Magic Dragon lived in.
And something under water too. . .

oh oh Megan, I have so many photos i could show you if you want? I’d love to see how they would inspire you :)

Also, love the idea of a calender, I normally buy a 7×5 for my kitchen pinboard but I’d buy a larger one if needs be too :) exciting!!

Haha. I’d love to see them! I’m having my boyfriend dig through his portfolio too because I honestly don’t take pictures. Yeah, I was thinking a very small size that could be pinned. That way it’s more of an artsy calendar. I really don’t want it to look cheap.

I was also thinking a mossy cave or animal burrow. Or maybe a drippy stalactite cave with crystally walls. Giant eagles nest high up on a mountain top or high up in the trees. I’m also thinking of some kind of pathway…old stones or wooden steps, somewhat narrow and dark but more inviting than scary. Maybe with vines and flowers, little misty floaty things. Yay!

There definitely needs to be an old library, full of books. Those places are full of magic, and sometimes secret passages.
